The Team Lead, Operations and Maintenance, is responsible for overseeing the safe, 

efficient, and reliable operation of all equipment, systems, and processes within the plant. 

This role ensures optimal plant performance by developing and implementing 

comprehensive maintenance strategies, troubleshooting operational issues, and leading 

a team of technicians and engineers. Key responsibilities include planning and executing preventive and corrective maintenance activities, minimizing downtime, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations, safety protocols, and environmental standards. 

The Team Lead collaborates with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives, enhance equipment reliability, and optimize operational 

efficiency.

Job DescriptionAssists with the implementation of B2B, market development and client/customer engagement strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the continued expansion, commercial growth and profitability of the business operations of Operations and Maintenance Services. 

Identifies, builds, and nurtures strategic relationships with existing and prospective B2B and corporate clients to ensure consistent, profitable growth in, and market acceptance of operations and maintenance engineering solutions and services, with focus on boosting demand, revenues and profits of each offering. 

Analyses market trends and competitors’ activities to guide the formulation of appropriate market response and client engagement strategies that will enhance the competitive position and growth performance of Hy-Group’s operations and maintenance engineering solutions and services

Monitors plant operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable performance of all equipment and systems, identifies and addresses technical issues, troubleshooting operational challenges to minimize downtime and optimize productivity. 

Inspects key systems regularly to assess performance, detect potential failures, and implement corrective measures. 

Compiles and presents periodic performance reports to management, providing insights on equipment reliability, maintenance activities, and overall plant performance. 

Job Specification

Job SpecificationBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Petroleum, or Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field. 

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in operations and maintenance within the oil and gas industry 

  • Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and Council for Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) or Professional Engineering (PE) certification is required. 

  • Certification in maintenance management, reliability engineering, or safety standards is required.
